Phases of Disaster Management:

• Prevention: Measures taken to prevent disasters, such as environmental planning and hazard control.
• Mitigation: Reducing the impact of disasters before they occur, e.g., enforcing building codes and avoiding construction in flood-prone areas.
• Preparedness: Establishing procedures, equipment, and training to respond effectively to disasters.
• Response: Immediate actions taken to minimize damage and provide aid during a disaster.
• Recovery: Restoring normalcy after a disaster, including rebuilding infrastructure and supporting affected communities.

Types of Disasters:

Disasters can be natural (e.g., floods, hurricanes, earthquakes) or human-made (e.g., industrial accidents, power failures, chemical spills). Their impacts can be human, material, economic, or environmental.
